Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford Escape is available in four trims: the S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. Standard exterior features include dual-chrome exhaust tips, daytime running lights, skid plates, a rear spoiler, and a rear intermittent wiper. High-end models also include privacy glass, a power liftgate, black roof side rails, heated mirrors, and LED fog lights. A panoramic vista roof is also available.
Engine (Power)
The standard gas engine on the S, SE, and SEL is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost. The standard gas engine for the Titanium is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost with automatic stop-start technology. Both gas-powered engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The 1.5-liter engine has an EPA-rated fuel efficiency of 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The 2.0-liter engine has a fuel economy of 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Properly equipped, the 2.0-liter engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. All models include electronic traction control, curve control, stability control, power-assisted steering, and anti-lock brakes.
Interior
All trims have a rotary gear shift dial, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and power windows and doors. Except for the S, all trims also feature push-button start and dual-zone automatic climate control. The S and SE models have cloth seats and a six-way manual driver's seat. The SEL and Titanium have heated front seats, a 10-way power driver's seat, and ActiveX premium upholstery. All models have a 60/40 split-folding rear bench.
Standard infotainment amenities include a six-speaker audio system, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, voice recognition, and Bluetooth connectivity. The SE, SEL, and Titanium also include satellite radio, a larger touch screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include a rearview camera, advanced air bags, and LATCH anchors and tethers. Standard driver-assist features include blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and dynamic brake support. High-end models also include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centering, speed sign recognition, rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
